Eight months!

So with Valentines day and crazy life going on around us, we celebrated eight months of Lizzie in our life yesterday! She is such a happy, sweet, silly girl. Now that she is mobile, it is so entertaining to watch her crawl all over the place and stand up on her own. Though she falls down and smacks her head occasionally, she loves doing it and refuses to stop. She is full of energy and love. We are so blessed to have her in our family. Happy New Year!

So with the holidays and all the fun things going on, I haven't even touched my blog... Whenever I had down time, I was wrapped up in my darling baby and never took the time to share our activities with the world! Well, here is some current happenings (I know if I try to play catch-up this would never happen!) in the Jaynes family :) I'll try to explain the pictures a bit!

Our little family has had a great start to the new year. Aaron started a new job that we are loving... Can I just say that we are incredibly blessed. Heavenly Father watches over us and cares a great deal about the little things that matter to me. I know He hears and answers prayers. I love Aaron and Lizzie, they are great blessings to me and make me a happier and more loving person. I can't even begin to count all the blessings that I have been given. I am looking forward to a big trip coming up..... Lizzie, my Momma, and me will be traveling to visit Sue and Aaron in Japan in about a month!!! We will be meeting their new baby girl and enjoying time spent with their sweet family. I can't wait!! Well, I hope this is enough to give you all a glimpse into the happy, (not-totally) perfect life that we have :-) Love you all!

Rolling (back) over!

Exactly one month after Lizzie began rolling from her back to her front she finally figured out how to get back! For a whole month she was so frustrated with me and herself probably, wondering how to flip back over. But she learned after much practice on her tummy and now can't make up her mind which side she wants to be on! She has begun rolling along the floor getting a bit of distance. She can also turn her body to face different directions to a small extent.

Another skill that she is improving in is sitting up by herself. Lizzie will sit in front on me and play with her toys sitting up and then all the sudden tip over again with a surprised look on her face. It's pretty fun to watch her little body learning how to control itself.

Lizzie is doing great at eating her rice cereal. We still make a mess together but she really enjoys eating like mom and dad. She will grab our cups and try to drink out of them which just makes her daddy laugh. He will let her suck on the rim of his cup for a bit. They are funny together!

This past week all three of us were hit with colds (I may have passed it to Aaron and Lizzie.... Oops!) I got over it first and then got to take care of my two sweet hearts. Here are some cute pictures of dad and baby, sick together! They stayed in that position for half an hour- quite an accomplishment for a 5 month old.

My baby girl is still pretty quiet but man, when she decides to talk she is pretty loud. Lizzie loves making high pitched chirps and yelps that make me laugh as I try to mimic the sounds she makes. Her excited little looks are so precious. Here are pictures of Lizzie ready for bed!

Lizzie loves standing up as I have said before. She really enjoys taking steps as her daddy walks her around the room. She wobbles a lot but it is adorable! She is so proud of herself when she tries to walk. We love this girl!

The Big 5!

Today we are celebrating 5 months of Lizzie's wonderful life. She is such a blessing to Aaron and me. We just can't get enough of her. We love watching her grow and change each day. She has learned to roll from her back to her front and is starting to enjoy her tummy more than before. Now she is trying to roll over to her back but gets frustrated easily with that. Mommy and Lizzie spend a lot of time together on the floor practicing these small things. She loves to stand up holding our hands and gets this proud/excited look on her face whenever we help her to. She will reach out and grab our faces and pull us in close until she can slime us with her adorable kisses. I don't think she realizes she is giving kisses but that is what I am calling it :) She is very content and observant. We get together with some neighbors in a play group and she will sit on my lap for an hour just watching the older kids run around her. She is fascinated with passing cars when we go on walks. She loves to track anything moving around her. Lizzie loves the bathtub and recently learned that kicking her legs will splash the water around- now she won't stop! She is so funny when she decides to talk (which isn't very often). She will watch your face and then squeal. If you repeat the sound back to her she will do it again with small differences. We try to match her sounds each time and she loves it! She laughs with her Daddy when he plays peek-a-boo or when doing the "washing machine" with Grandpa Jaynes. She loves to watch their dog Patrick run after any object. She will laugh when he takes off after the ball and just makes the sweetest sounds. Lizzie is the highlight of our life and brings us so much joy. With Thanksgiving coming up, I am focusing on all the things I am grateful for. Aaron and Lizzie are my number one blessing. I love our little family and I love that we will be together forever. I love the power of the Priesthood that has made this possible.
